Cyber Awareness - How They Attack

How They Attack Your Personal Details:

Phishing is the attempt to obtain sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details (and, indirectly, money), often for malicious reasons, by disguising as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication.

An attack to redirect a website’s traffic to a different, fake website, where the individual’s information is then compromised. Pharming can be conducted either by changing the 'Hosts File' on a victim's computer or by exploitation of a vulnerability in DNS server software.

Opportunistic attacks against specific weaknesses within a system. For example downloading a file which you have authorized but without true understanding of what is included in the file, this will often result in viruses or malware being downloaded.
